Dawlish Warren Beach The beach itself is sandy and gently sloping into shallow water and south facing, backed by sand dunes or the manmade revetment down over which is easy access to the beach. Hire a deck chair or a windbreak. Large car park behind.

National Nature Reserve. At the mouth of the Exe Estuary. A delightful mix of sand dune, Scrubland, grassland, ponds, saltmarsh and mudflats. Home to thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of visiting waders in winter from brent geese to widgeon, teal, mallard, sanderling, snipe, curlew, shelduck to resident avocets, little egret. Walk to the Point, watch the coming and goings from the Bird hide overlooking the Bight and the Mudflats. Please do not disturb birds roosting on the beaches on the Point at High Spring tides in winter
There are several very large Dawlish Holiday Parks within a mile or so of the beach. From holiday homes to chalets to static and touring caravans. Many of the parks have superb family entertainment, cabarets and discos in their clubhouses and bars, as well as heated swimming pools and children’s play areas.
